Mission Statement

Polytical.org is an online e-zine, as well as both an organisational & active part of the UK Poly community. We are here to help people who identify with any form of ethical non-monogamy, or people looking to find information about what polyamory and related relationship models actually are.

We aim to be a hub for polyamorous community activities in the UK, and a centre for poly resources & information, particularly (but not exclusively) that pertaining to the UK. We hope to make as many opportunities for the UK poly community to get involved with practical activist activities as possible.

Polytical is dedicated to providing a platform for writers, artists and other producers of poly media to present and promote their work to the community. All those who have something to express that is related to ethical non-monogamy are welcome on board the good ship Polytical.

We also seek to raise the visibility of polyamory through mainstream media appearances, community-created media and art projects, and educational literature.

A key feature of what we hope to eventually produce is a legal pack to help those in multiple committed relationships enjoy the benefits that monogamous couples get. As well as this, we will also be working to help find ways to campaign against and legally circumvent any poly-discriminatory laws such multiple occupancy households licensing.

History

The site was born from a brainstorming session at OpenCon 2010, where it came to be realised that there was no really active central hub for non-monogamous people in the UK, seeing as polyamory.org.uk seems to be rather dead in the water at the moment.  So we resolved to make a new one.  It is constantly in development, and always open for suggestions and improvements.
